ABMen in Hopi-Land, 2013
April 12, 2013
Clive Roberts of New Hampshire led a six person team including his wife, sister-in-law and 3 men from a Texas church to work at Sunlight Mission Church in Second Mesa, AZ, as we continue to celebrate our 90 years of Ministry again in Hopi-Land. They framed the new “office” building and discovered and repaired the reason for constant sewer odor in the Parsonage. It seems the vent pipe was old metal which had rusted holes in it. The vent pipe was sealed in the wall. This was a big deal and we appreciate what these Missionaries did. Also, during their 4 day stay, that crew dug the foundation, laid the block and framed the office. Clive was able to borrow a back hoe from some telephone contractors and he pulled down the old, disconnected water tank and shoved the dirt back into the hole near the basketball court. I am very proud of what this crew accomplished and I pray they enjoyed themselves and were very blessed during this Mission.
The current crew, consisting of myself, 4 other West Virginians, and 2 from Massachusetts, is completing the first of two weeks on the Hopi Reservation. Two local Hopi Indians, Mayo and Skeeter have been helping us. As you can see in the attached pictures, the office is coming along nicely, the roof is just about completed, the door is hung, electric installed (gas to be installed), insulation placed, sheetrock is started and the tile floor and window will be installed. We still have much to do and appreciate your prayers as we continue to be the hands and feet of Christ, serving the Hopi Indians, who are a humble people in need of such help.
