As we celebrate Christmas and prepare for a new year, I want to congratulate you for your gracious giving of your time, talent and treasure to make the year 2012 a great success for our Ministry. You and many of our fellow “sisters in ministry” answered the call whenever and from wherever it came. Although the Ministry of ABMen-USA has been referred to in the past by some as the “best kept secret of ABC-USA”, that is not the case anymore. Not only have you ministered to the needs of others in crisis, but you also have responded to “corporate” requests for assistance and I have never been more proud of our Ministry.
ABMen-USA is a missional ministry as demonstrated by your participation this year in Disaster Relief Ministry in your local communities and various locations around the country, including: Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Also, while celebrating “90 Years of Ministry” this year, nearly 40 of you from 8 different states worked long difficult hours in the Arizona desert to help make life better for our Missionaries and the loving people of the Hopi Indian Nation in Second Mesa, AZ. Later, in the fall, a similar group volunteered their time working very hard cutting trees, clearing brush and remodeling hotel rooms of the Roger Williams Inn at the Green Lake Baptist Conference Center in Wisconsin. Your active participation in helping those in need and being the “hands and feet of Christ” has not gone unnoticed. You can be proud of who you are and what you have accomplished in the name of Christ. I want to remind you also of our new partnership with the Boy Scouts of America. We can provide a great service to the boys of America by getting them into Scouting in our churches and mentoring them in the ways of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As we prepare for the year 2013, I know that you will respond to any calls for Disaster Relief and, again, I thank you for your willingness do the dirty, tiring and dangerous things you do to help those who cannot help themselves. I pray that all of you will be participating in the “Annual ABMen Prayer Breakfast” February 23, 2013. You should also be aware, as we continue to celebrate “90 years of ministry”, I look forward to working with many of you again at the Hopi Indian Reservation at Second Mesa, AZ in 2013. Also, please mark your calendars for June 21-23, 2013 for a great celebration of ABMen’s Ministry at our ABMen-USA Annual Meeting during the ABC-USA Biennial at Overland Park, KS. Later, you are invited to again participate in a “work party” at Green Lake during the weeks of 9-23 to 10-5-13.
My Brothers in Christ, please pray for your ABMen Minsitries. We need more dedicated volunteers and sadly, we need funding to continue providing the best we have to offer. Please visit and send others to our “new” website, www.abmen.org for archived and up to the minute information about our Ministry. I wish you all a Blessed and Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
