What is Happing NOW

Hello, again, my Brothers and Sisters in Christ. You may recall an earlier request for volunteers in Sellers, SC, a small poor community that suffered greatly from hurricane Matthew in October, 2016. We have been housed at the Library / Community Center, sleeping on cots and using a primitive shower. We have been making home repairs including electrical and installing sheetrock and flooring. We still have floors to repair, minor roof repair and electrical to do. More needs to be done.  ABMen-USA are planning to return to Sellers on Monday, May 15,  to Saturday, May 20, 2017. Yes, this is the day after Easter Sunday. Please consider how many days you can participate. The people of Sellers are very friendly, engaging and appreciative of any help they receive and they are very deserving. Please contact me and let me know what days you plan to be there so we can prepare for you. You will need a sleeping bag, (or sheets and blanket) pillow, toiletries, towel and wash cloth, etc. You may bring any personal tools if you want. Please contact me at the e-mail address or phone number below. Thanks, again for all y’all do for our Ministry and for the Lord in being the hands and feet of Christ.

November 2013

Brothers, are you making plans for next year? There are some activities I would like for you to seriously consider placing on your calendar for 2014:

1-      The Annual ABMen-USA Conference will take place at the home church of our Vice President, Joe Hood at Second Calvary Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina. The meeting will begin as a Prayer Breakfast service on Saturday morning, August 2, 2014. Plans are being made to include a golf tournament and a Frisbee golf competition for Saturday afternoon. Columbia, SC is easily accessed from a great portion of the country. Please start making plans now to attend. More detailed announcements will come later.

2-      Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, Wisconsin, is still in need of our assistance. Many volunteers have thoroughly enjoyed themselves in 2012 and 2013 helping to refurbish the Roger Williams Inn and cutting trees, brush and clearing walking and biking paths. Brad Carroll, VP Operations, has requested our return in 2014. Please consider attending the “ABMen Work Party” at Green Lake the weeks of September 22nd and 29th, 2014.

3-      The following is from Vicki Goff, National Coordinator, Volunteer Ministries, ABHMS:  Now a project, two suggestions, First Crow Indian Baptist Church on Crow Nation in Montana is still recovering from a serious flood several years ago.  For the last two summers, volunteers have been helping with the demolition of the church structure and they are now ready to begin construction and can use some help.  In addition, we have ongoing continued efforts in New Jersey that could use some assistance next year.  As well as needs in Murrow and Bacone College. Please consider forming teams for these projects. For information, contact Vicki Goff at    .
