Hot off the Wire

To my American Baptist Men’s Ministry Brothers and Friends of the Ministry, I pray that you are eagerly anticipating the day of celebration of our Lord and Savior’s birth. This is the season when we look forward to spending time with family and friends. It is a joyous time with food, Christmas carols, candlelight services and making plans for a new year. While enjoying your blessings, remember those who have less, can do less and are loved less. Remember Matthew 25:34-36, Jesus says, “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on the right and the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger, and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’” In the rest of the chapter, Jesus explains what happens to the “goats”. Don’t be a “goat”. I pray that you will continue being the “hands and feet” of Christ, as you exemplified all through this year. Please take time to hug your family and thank Jesus for joining us on this dark planet in order to bring His light to the world. Take time to share the Gospel and bring to all you meet the “peace of God which transcends all understanding”. I pray you will have a Merry Christmas and a joyful and prosperous new year.
